Haiku Booklet
The objective of this project was to create a non-literal visual and typographic interpretive sequence using elements inspired by a three-line haiku poem.
Chosen Haiku:
"Peaches a sweet treat, Beware the pit is poison, Two faced little fruit"
by Sharon Ruebal
Research
After analyzing the haiku it seems to use the peach as a metaphor for something that appears sweet and appealing on the outside but hides a potential danger or deceit beneath the surface. The peach represents something desirable—on the surface, it is attractive, sweet, and pleasant. The pit is symbolic of something hidden and potentially harmful. It warns that there’s a core of danger or toxicity beneath the sweetness. Calling the peach "two-faced" suggests deception.

Digital Iterations
Explored various sizes, orientations, and positions of these repeated elements to create rhythm and cohesion within my digital ideations. Repetition served as both a unifying force and a tool for abstract interpretation.
Color Iterations
When exploring color, I focused on mainly a split complementary color harmony, with the addition of coral or red. This harmony creates contrast and reflects the duality expressed in the haiku. Maintains a sense of cohesion, with each repeated form and typographic choice contributing to a unified and visually balanced design.
